we have been busy...

see this baby?
i saw this sideboard on craigslist a couple of months ago.
my husband picked it up on his way home from work and haggled them down to half of what they were asking!
NEVER pay full price on craigslist.
they will almost always come down.

this sideboard and a few other projects have been sitting in our garage waiting for a sunny day.
a sunny day it was on friday so we got to work.

my husband did most of the work on this one while i supervised and painted other little items that are coming to you soon!

remember this wall? it needed some serious help.
i spray painted the stars "heirloom white" by rust-oleum (home depot) and took down the empty frames.

we decided this sideboard would sit right under these stars.

(we didn't sand this. i don't sand if the wood doesn't have a glossy finish. if you are worried you can roughen up the wood with a fine sand paper. primed with 2 or 3 cans of white primer. then spray painted Krylon spray paint in"Satin Fern" you can find it at wal-mart or fred meyer. not at home depot or lowe's. it took 3 cans.)

bam!
here is the finished product!

i love it!

see my sweet little pink rose.
i got that for valentine's day and it is still going strong.

thank you husband for working so hard to help me with this project.
here's to many a more spray painting projects that you have no idea are headed your way.
bless your heart for being so naive and thinking this was the last one.

people often ask....

"hey how is home school going?"

the answer is that we are having a marvelous time!

but sometimes we do get a little distracted....

but that is part of the reason we why love it.
getting distracted is totally allowed.

Thank You Taylor Lautner...

for finally turning 18. Gosh that seriously took forever!

Ok, so I realize that New Moon is old news to everyone, but I just barely went to see it.

I was just busy and hadn't gotten around to it.

So after seeing the movie, I went home, got online and hoped and prayed to the most high that he was 18.

Yesterday, February 11th was his Birthday!

I have been TEAM JACOB since day 1. So of course I LOVED the movie.

No I am not one of those who switched teams just because of this movie.

I have proof of this from this blog post last year.

The love triangle between these 3 was almost too much for me to handle.

At one point, I may or may not have screamed to Jacob "just kiss her!"

This picture is of my friend Erin last year when we went to see Twilight. It was opening night, and she stood with me, 9 months pregnant, in the rain to go watch it. She told me last year she would kill me if I posted this picture so I had to do it again!

Erin thanks for waiting to go with me this year!! We were the only ones in the theater!

Can't wait to see the next movie with you!

and yes I still wish I was a vampire.

My Last Minute Valentine Jars

They are made and ready to be delivered!

They are great for grandmas, friends, teachers, and even husbands!

Here are my Jars of candy.
I went to a store that had the bulk food bins and got little bits of lots of different candies.

Lucy and I cut long strips of scrap booking paper.

Then pasted card stock tags to them with different sayings.

I made these tags in photo shop elements.
If you don't have photo shop it's ok. Just make sayings in "word" or some other program. Then just cut out a picture of your kids and paste it on. Piece of cake!

Then just taped them to the jars by taping the card stock strips together where it meets in the back of the jar.

This one has valentine gummy bears, hugs, & kisses.

This jar has Hugs, Kisses, & Sour Patch Kids!

The tag reads:

"Hugs & Kisses
Happy Valentine's Day
From, These Sour Patch Kids"

K, so here is the deal. Remember how you used to make those candy bar posters for boyfriends in high school?

SO, I wanted to make one but in a jar for my Husband this year.

I thought it would be kinda cute.
I brought home a bunch of candy.
Everything I came up...let's just say it wasn't rated G!

I guess I have kinda of a wild little mind. I had no idea.
HA HA!

Not really I mean it's for my husband people.

Anyway you can make up anything your little heart desires for your husband. It's kinda fun!

So here is the one I came up with that can be displayed on this blog. Here's what it's got....

Hot Tamales
Sour Patch Kids
Kisses
Now and Laters

Here is how it turned out.

You get the idea. Now go make them!

let's talk about my sister

see this guy? his name is miles. he is my sister chelsea's little man. so that means he is my nephew :)

my sister is younger than i am.

but, she went ahead and passed me up with 3 kids.

this guy is the middle child.

he is so soft and so sweet.

this photo makes me want to grab him and squeeze his marshmallowyness.

it was his birthday when we visited my sister in california.

here he is blowing out his candles.

i love this picture...check out my little lucy on the left. she is dreaming about it being her birthday and is making her lips in the "blowing out the candles O shape".

it made me giggle a little.

when we got back from california, i realized that i didn't have any pictures of my sweet sister chelsea. but here she is lighting miles's candles on his cupcake.

you can totally tell how cute she is by that apron she is wearing though can't ya!

my sister is the sweetest thing you have ever met! seriously i think she might just be an angel sent here straight from heaven!

she is also extremely talented in crafts, sewing, baking, and cooking!

i am still thinking about the food that she made while we were there.

check out these star wars light saber cupcakes she made for miles's birthday!

she just whipped them right up out of nowhere!?

i couldn't believe it! all from scratch mind you.

the night before miles's big day, my two sister's and i stayed up late sewing :)

miles has this favorite penguin stuffed animal named "percy."

my sister made percy a super hero costume complete with mask and cape, a robin hood costume, a sleeping bag, and....

a star wars Obi-Wan Kenobi robe all for percy!

it was by far his favorite present. look at his smile.

so here is the deal. i call up my sister the other night right? i say to her...

"chelsea, for the love!

will you please start a blog and show us how you do what you do?"

so coming to you very soon will be my sister chelsea's blog!

i can hardly even wait!

she is very busy with a sick little baby girl (my niece ruby) right now, but i will let you know when it is up and running.

be prepared to be amazed!

favroites from Dland

I have so many photo's it is hard to pick! I have narrowed it down to these 500 :o)

Here is my favorite photo. Lucy and I had just ran to the bathroom before getting in line for the rockets. We came back and my husband says to me "ummm did you pull her skirt up like that?" I looked over and she had hiked her skirt all the way up to her chest. I had to take a picture because she looked so darn cute!

(yes she is wearing her bubble skirt i made her, you can get the pattern in my etsy shop)

oh the tea cups. it was by far the kids favorite ride.

what the heck is trey doing in this photo?!

lucy wanted to have a pink teacup every time and she got what she wanted.

the kids liked to spin it very fast. mom and dad didn't.
uncle abe, trey is still talking about how you can spin the teacups the fastest!

that's my youngest sister emily holding our very pretty little niece ruby and my sister chelsea (ruby's mama) in the purple shirt.

for those of you who don't know my dad, he is definitely just a big kid. i am sure a lot of you can understand this, because i think a lot of dads are this way.

before we even entered the park, he was running around pushing the kids in this jogging stroller like a maniac. he had an audience of disney goers laughing and loving it.

trey and his cousin isaac waiting to get on the peter pan ride.

my mom and sister chelsea wanted to take lucy to see the princesses. my sister has been talking about wanting to do this with lucy for years. when they came back i looked through the pictures and started laughing.

she would not get within 5 feet of those princesses.

here she is with ariel.

her cousin miles couldn't get enough of the princesses. i have pictures of him hugging then and not wanting to let go.

but my little lu just wanted to look but not touch.

ok so seriously. i can't get enough of these pictures they snap of you while you are on the rides.

this one was by far my favorite of the whole trip.

it is of us on space mountain, which is a ride completely in the dark.
so we get off the ride to check out our picture only to find this...

when you first see this picture my brother-in-law abe stands out to you right? but look at my sister on the back right! what the heck is she doing?

i laughed until my stomach was sore.

emily, even though you have tried many a time to explain to me what you are doing in this photo, i still don't understand.

why is your tongue sticking out like that, and why are you making that face?

please explain this so we can all understand.

i bought my little lu this mini mouse phone.
she walked around the park "taking pictures" of everything.

this was too cute. lucy was playing one of those water shooting games, my husband was helping her and she totally won! i hurried and got my camera out in time to take this picture. she was so excited that she won!

that dumbo is her new favorite stuffed animal.

my dad with the grand kids and my brother spencer on the far right.

a cute picture of

trey, lucy, miles, and miles favorite penguin percy.

percy rode all of the rides with miles.

oh this was too funny! i was standing on a bridge waiting for everyone to float down on the Grizzly River Rapids ride. here is a picture of them when they came around.

my husband is saying "look trey wave to mom!"

right before they got drenched with water!

the best part is look at my dad on the bottom right.

he is totally pointing and laughing at them!

i know my dad well enough to know he is saying "ha ha you sorry suckers!"

trey was a good sport about it, and luckily mom had brought him an extra set of clothes.

i thought this was a cute picture of my dad and miles after the ride.

we had so much fun i can barely stand it!

thank you mom and dad for letting us hop in your RV and taking us to Disneyland.
that was the best Christmas present ever!

thank you abe and chelsea for letting us stay at your house and making us such awesome food!

love you guys!
