Easy Hair Clips

We have a winner!

She has one super cute blog! You'll have to go check her out!

Melissa email me your address and I'll send out your hair clips!

Thanks to all who commented! If you didn't win just get your little self down to JoAnns and get your crafting on!

lets talk hair clips. the very first tutorial i did was last year right about this time, about hair clips...and it wasn't very good :o)

let's see if i can redeem myself here.
here's a tutorial for my favorite kind of easy hair clips made with scrap booking brads.

here are some scrap booking brads. you've seen them. they have the two pointy ends that you can poke through paper and secure by opening the the ends.

here are some hair clips. i got these at target.

there are two kinds of flowers i like to use:
scrap booking flowers
(got these from Joann's)

&
the flowers that you can buy in the bunches.

did you know you can just give these little beauties a tug and they pop right off?!

stack your flowers on top of each other.

take your brad

and just push it right through the holes in the middle of the flowers.

turn your flower over and open up the ends to secure the brad.

now isn't that cute and wasn't that easy?!

for these goody clips i cute a piece of ribbon 3 3/8 inches long.
put some fabric glue

i like this kind.
(got it at Joann's....yes i keep them in business)

slide the ribbon glue side up into the clip.

close the clip.

place the ribbon glue side down onto the top of the clip.

pull it around...

all the way to the back of the clip.

hot clue your flower to the clip.

these are so much fun to make and very addicting. warning to husbands: if you see your wife reading this post immediately unplug her computer. she will stay up to midnight making these and will neglect the laundry, the house, the children, and maybe even you!

these make great gifts. lucy and i make these for her friends birthdays. we make these little holders by taking two pieces of card stock, gluing them together, and cutting vertical slits into the card stock with an exacto knife.

want these little sweethearts?
it's gonna cost you a comment :o) just leave a comment to let me know you're in. trey and lucy will pick a winner on saturday.

stay tuned because next i am going to show you how to make these little cuties.

so cute, and I love that you make them for birthdays!
Gabe asked yesterday when could he go play with "Tree"
I said...Tree? who is that?
and he said..."The boy we went to the museum with!"
He wants to play with Trey again :)
I am going to get your address from Erin and have Gabe write a letter to him if you don't mind!

I am loving this post! I just bought up a storm on Etsy today and I know I can make them myself, but they were already done. :)

I am loving the brad idea, never would have thought of it.

I must have that cupcake cutie! :-)

*I am so glad I have a daughter, I'm pretty sure my 7yr old son would object to having his hair clipped with a cupcake (or with anything else for that matter).

Thanks for the chance to win!!

Hey there,

My name is Melissa and I love your blog!! You have great ideas, I have dont similar clippies but like yours more so I will headed to the store tomorrow to pick up the supplies.

BTW~ I made the barn yard star you show for my daughter's 2nd grade teacher and she said "I know I am not suppose to say this but it is my favorite gift I have ever recieved." AND.... she was supposed to retire last year and didnt so that covers many years of gifts! :) I used pictures of the kids in the class... it wasnt as cute as yours but still cute. I am lame and forgot to take a picture of it, I will have to do it next time I am in the classroom!

Keep on inspiring!

Melissa :)

I was just looking at the clip you made for Abby and thinking that I needed to look up your old tutorial and make some new ones because they are sooo cute. And now, well... I guess I'm going to have to go to JoAnn's tomorrow! I'm totally in your contest!

(P.S. Sometime will you do an hourly report of your day because I would LOVE to know how you think up all this adorable stuff and do so much cute and creative stuff with your kids. I'll say it again... YOU are my inspiration!!)

Thank you so much for doing this post!!!! I have seen these before, and I have spent a small fortune trying to make my little girls not look like boys. (They take after me, I didn't get a lot of hair until I was 3). The only way I don't have this comment, "Oh what a cute little guy" (even when they're dressed in pink) is to put bows in their hair. It's already getting late (so Joann's is closed) but I know where I'll be tomorrow!!!

Oh are you not the sweetest to always share giveaways on your blog. I know I gotta have one soon...just looking for the cutest springy thing to share...anyway please add me.
