give me a heart attack!

We took Trey (our 4 year old) a couple of months ago snowboarding for the 1st time. While we were there I was noticing a difference between Trey and the other kids. I realized what it was...every other kid had on a helmet and Trey didn't. We had just rented his equipment and just didn't think to get him one. What were we thinking?!

So we took Trey down and bought him a helmet and his own snowboard just his size.
We put it up high in our house where he could see it, but he couldn't get it down until he had done enough chores for him to earn it.

Travis took Trey last week snowboarding and the girls stayed home. I threatened Travis with his life that he better bring Trey back exactly as he left me. He took our little cannon PowerShot and took these videos.

I freaked out when I saw them. When I watched the first video I about had a heart attack at how fast he was going!
(bear with the first video...it takes awhile for him to finally decide to come down)

This second video Travis just sends him down and watches him vanish out of sight! It's really hard for me to watch my first born son doing such dangerous things. Maybe if I stop feeding him he will stop growing up.

Tanya,
I totally understand your heart attack, I would feel the same way but that is SO cool! My son Cade is 4 too, just turned though and is so far from that its crazy!

Its funny, we both have a boy and a girl, my son is as red headed as yours and both our hubbies are named Travis!

Way to go Trey. Tanya maybe you need to go up with then one time and see how he does it, maybe that will help ease the pain ;) Randy already got Wyatt a bike (it's called a run bike. It has no peddles or training wheels) I'm sure when Wyatt is 4 he will be doing exactly what Trey is doing.

My heart is still beating.

He was flying. I can't believe how great he is already! Actually, I can believe it. You need to send that video into Letterman or something.:)

You don't need to do anything drastic like starving the kid. You would be amazed at what a good basement and some chains can do.

Oh man that is so awesome. I can't imagine Thomas doing that even when he is 10! Seriously what a stud Trey is. Travis must be a good snowboarder too, taping and going at the same time.

Hi! I ran into your blog through another blog, and it's been fun reading it! I love your crafts! I'm a stay-at-home mom with twins. Crafting is such a nice way to relax and have fun after a long day! I can't wait to make my own glass pendants!

If you stop feeding him, he will only have a harder time seeing over the steering wheel when he does that really really scary thing called DRIVING. AWWWW

OMG!The video of him going down the slope out of sight in the second video would have terrified me. I'm a Florida girl, so not used to the snow anyway. Hee, hee. But the thought of my baby boy disappearing into the snow...my husband would have heard about that one!HA! Love your blog and tutorials!
