the 15 minute dress

Winners have been chosen! This giveaway is closed.

OK
ladies are you ready for this!?

It's called a bandanna dress and Lucy looks so dang cute in it!

It's here, for you, just in time for Spring!

What, you don't believe me that it takes only 15 minutes!!??

Fine I'll show you...here's how you do it:

Go down and get yourself 2 bandannas and a spool of ribbon.
I got all of this at Joanns.

Lay the bandannas on top of each other, right sides together.

Each bandanna has some writing on it; make sure the writing is at the top of your dress.

Measure the width of your ribbon.
Mine was about an 1 1/2 inches.

Measure down from the top on the left side 6 inches plus the measurement of the width of the ribbon.
So I measured down on mine 6 + 1 1/2 = 7 1/2.

Place two pins at that measurement.
This is a good way to mark where you will stop sewing.
(This will make the armholes of the dress.)

Pin the rest of the way down to the bottom of the dress.

Now do the exact same to the right side of the dress.

Stitch all the way from the bottom of the dress to the 2 pins.

When you get to the pins stop and back stitch.

At the top of your dress you will have two open

At the top of your dress measure the width of the ribbon, fold down at that length, and pin all the way across the top.

(This is going to be the casing for your ribbon. There will be one on each side.)

Turn dress over and do the same to the other side of the dress.

Sew all the way across the top of the dress.

Do this on both sides.

Cut two lengths of ribbon about 40 inches long.

Singe the edges with a match so it doesn't fray.

Turn your dress right side out.
Secure a safety pin to the end of one of the ribbons.

Feed it through the casing all the way out the other side.

Do this with both ribbons in separate casings.

Gather the top of the dress together in the middle of the ribbon and tie bow on both sides.

Your little one can wear this as a dress when she is little and a shirt as she grows!

Win it! Leave a comment to let me know you are in. Trey and Lucy will pick a winner sometime this week.

How can you say no to 15 minutes?! You have to give this one a try!

here are some that i am debating on putting in my etsy shop. they turned out great and were so much fun to make.

Those dresses/ shirts are great! I will try that idea for sure. Did you think about altering the neck line to be a scoop? That might turn it into an 18 minute dress, which isn't quite so catchy...
