Goodwill Dresser

i found this dresser at goodwill. i loved the curvy lines along the bottom and the nice big drawers.

we all worked together around here to make this happen.
the dresser was old but the drawers worked great! we only had to sand the top because it had quite a few scratches on it.
first we primed it with spray paint primer.
then we did 2-3 coats of white spray paint.

switched out the hardware. we made sure to buy hardware that would fit in the old holes to save time.

after it was nice and dry i took sand paper to the edges of the dresser to give it a distressed look.

my husband is so very strong and moved this dresser upstairs all by himself!
wow thanks honey!
we are so happy with the way it turned out!

i found this awesome old window yesterday at an antique mall for $17 bucks!

i didn't' have to do a thing to it. at one time it was painted a blue green color and then later a robin egg blue.
the blue has chipped and the green is coming through i love it!

trey and lucy go to school

and it is just about too much for this little heart to handle...

i cried the first foot we stepped into school,
then when i waved at him through the window every 10 minutes,
and now again while i am thinking back to it.
i am hopeless.
*post-edit-i may have confused some of my friends with this post. about a month before trey was starting kinder garden i decided to home school. we are homeschooling still...but we have joined a school/co-op for home schooled kids. this way trey can still be the social little man that he is.

10 minute dish towel dress

Ok so, I was at Target (i heart you target) yesterday.
My kids were doing the usual...looking through the "dollar spot" for a little prize. When suddenly out of the corner of my eye I see these too cute Halloween dish towels.

They come in a two pack.

For only $2.50.

I don't remember much about what happened after that...

Something about a sewing machine and bribing Lucy with a Popsicle to let me take a picture of her.

You can make one too!
and ladies i do not tell lies. this dress took me 10 minutes to make!

p.s. these adorable legging were puchased at target as well. i think they were around $5.

i just love her

When i was pregnant with Lucy I was SO sure she was a boy. When the ultrasound tech asked me what i saw on the screen I said "it looks like a boy to me." She looked at me and said ,"I don't know what you are looking at, I think this is a little girl!"

I was nervous. I knew what to do with boys. What would I do with a girl?

Now that we have her she has completely stolen my heart.

That tiny body...

those little legs...

this sweet face...
(she is dancing in this picture while singing "I know you I walked with you once upon a dream.")

and that little tooshie.

I can barely handle how cute this little girl is and cannot keep my hands off her!

I caught on real quick to what you do with a little girls. You pick them up, squeeze them, and never let them go.
