one of the best things about being a mom...

watching your kids experiencing pure joy.

this is the tree swing at trey and lucy's grandma and grandpa's house. it is attached to a huge walnut tree.

travis
swung here as a boy, and when i would come to travis's house when i was little for piano lessons, i also swung on this very tree.

this tree has seen a lot of kids throughout the years.

but i don't think this tree has seen a child enjoy swinging here as much as lucy did.

she loved it so much it hurt.

she wasn't scared one little bit at how high she was going.
here she is swinging over her uncle peter and cousin greyson.

trey and cousin ethan were feeling brave enough to lay under lucy while she swung.

just look at that little face and how excited she is.
it feels good to know that your kids are so happy.

really what more could i ask for.

ever made a button?

I am so excited because I just figured out how to make a button for my blog! I have been getting emails asking for one, so I got to work.
If you want to add my button to your blog:

1. COPY THE CODE (it's on the right underneath my button on the sidebar :o)

2. Layout

3. Add a gadget

4. HTML/JavaScript

5. Paste the code

It's as easy as that!

Maybe you need a button for your blog too! Here are the links with great tutorials on just how to do it:

I used this one to make the button:

Here is the one I used to make the button with the text box underneath to share the code with you!

dear husband

this is all your fault
you know i have an addiction.
yet you sleep.

i thought we agreed you wouldn't fall asleep until you knew that i was asleep, or strong enough to resist the temptation.

now look what you did....just look
at that ninja. he shouldn't have to be apart of my addiction.
so sweet and so innocent.

and well...the ninja needed a friend.
this pirate bunny was the perfect little buddy for him.

i almost went to bed at this point...i really did!

but then i remembered these adorable little pink bow tie buttons i had bought, and the

sweetest flower rosette button i had picked up the other day, and before i could stop myself i was making her.

after the hours had past and the night halfway over, i made sure you were sound asleep, and very quietly tip toed into bed. then in the morning when you asked what time i went to bed i lied.

please someone help me from myself!

p.s. you can get this bunny pattern here in my etsy shop...but i really don't want to be responsible for anyone else's addiction. so there you've been warned.

Easy Spring Hair Clips Part 2

This giveaway is closed!
We have a winner!
Skye email me and I'll get those sent out to you!

As promised!
I showed you how to make easy flower hair clips made with scrap booking brads about a week ago. I promised I would show you how to make this little sweetheart below.

So here we go! I'm so excited!
(Oh, and you will have a chance to win all of these clips!)

I got these babies at Joann's, in the scrap booking embellishments section.

This set has the sweetest little cupcakes, strawberries, and orange slices you have ever seen!

Here is the glue I like to use for gluing the ribbon onto the clip. It's called Farbi-Tac, you can find it at Joann's as well.

For the bigger embellishments like the cupcakes, I like to use the alligator hair clips. You can get these at places like Sally's Beauty.

Measure and cut the needed amount of ribbon for the size of your hair clip. Put a nice line of glue all the way down the middle of the ribbon.

Starting with your clip open glue your ribbon face down, and bring it around the bottom of your clip...

keep following the hair clip around with your ribbon. Open the clip and bring your ribbon under.

It will look like this!

*tip-if your little one has fine hair these clips don't stay as well. cut a rectangular piece of felt and glue it to the inside of your clip so it won't slip in your little darlin's hair.

Take your embellishment...

tie a ribbon through the two holes.

Then just hot glue it to your ribbon covered hair clip!

Here are some sweet strawberry clips I made. They are smaller so I used the snap clips like I did in my first hairclip tutorial.

I hot glued the berries to a flower, and then onto the hair clip.

After your done making your clips take some card stock, cut two vertical slits for each clip, and you have yourself a nice little way to display these as gifts, or even to sell!

You could also make a hair clip holder with this easy tutorial.

I am giving these little beauties away! Leave a comment to let me know you are in! Trey and Lucy will pick a winner this Saturday. Good luck!

Lastly, I couldn't help but show you this little Easter clips I made for my Lucy.
They match her Sunday Easter dress perfectly.
