i found this dresser at goodwill. i loved the curvy lines along the bottom and the nice big drawers.
we all worked together around here to make this happen.
the dresser was old but the drawers worked great! we only had to sand the top because it had quite a few scratches on it.
first we primed it with spray paint primer.
then we did 2-3 coats of white spray paint.
switched out the hardware. we made sure to buy hardware that would fit in the old holes to save time.
after it was nice and dry i took sand paper to the edges of the dresser to give it a distressed look.
my husband is so very strong and moved this dresser upstairs all by himself!
wow thanks honey!
we are so happy with the way it turned out!
i found this awesome old window yesterday at an antique mall for $17 bucks!
i didn't' have to do a thing to it. at one time it was painted a blue green color and then later a robin egg blue.
the blue has chipped and the green is coming through i love it!

Both are so beautiful! My husband has a dresser, mirror, and headboard I absolutely want to paint. I think when Lamb gets bigger and moves into her own room, I will be painting them!
The whole thing looks great. The old window right down to the dresser. Makes me want to go get an old dresser to fix up! :)

Holy Crap. 334. You are a rock star.
this turned out so good! i am getting more courage to paint my old bedroom furniture now!
My mom had a dresser like this at some point.
LONG before the notion to spray paint wood any color. That was back when wood was left, well, wood.
Shoulda kept it....curvy bottom, funky handles and all.
HEY! Maybe that is my mom's old dresser!
Anyway, it really does look darling. And what a hubba hubby to hoist it around like that!
That looks AWESOME!!! Great job!
What a wonderful before and after!
It looks beautiful!!
Doesn't even look like the same piece! Love it.
Very cool! Awesome job & love the window too!
Shellagh
I absolutely love it! It's just my style. The unexpected "find" of the window is great, too! Love those colors.
WOW! I love it! I have two dressers that I want to do that too, but was dreading sanding the entire thing. So I don't have to sand it all just use spray paint? That would SAVE me so much time & effort that my husband doesn't think I have. :)
I might be emailing you for further questions. Thanks for sharing your amazing projects. I want to find an old window now too!
I love it!! You did a GREAT job!
You inspire me Tanya! It looks awesome.

A friend sent me your blog, and I love all of your wonderful ideas! I have a question about spray painting furniture (I am planning on doing a desk). Do you have to put a top coat of anything over the paint to keep it from being sticky, or is it good to go after a couple of coats of paint?
jill. i did not put a top coat over the paint. if you do a semi-gloss spray paint it already has a little protection from the gloss.
WOW - is all I can think as I look at your AMAZING projects...if only I could have ounce of motivation to do all that you do! YOU'RE AWESOME!
p.s. I know Kelly M. too...we worked together in Idaho.
Very nice. I also like big drawers, because I have so many underwear and viagra online products and my drawers are so little that I have such a mess in my bedroom.
